Discover what it takes to make a movie! Intro to Filmmaking is a hands-on program designed for first-time filmmakers and anyone curious about how movies are made. Participants will explore the essential building blocks of filmmaking, including storytelling, screenwriting, acting, directing, cinematography, sound, and editing. Through creative exercises and small filmmaking projects, participants will learn how ideas develop from a simple concept into scenes that can be planned, filmed, and edited. They will have opportunities to experiment with different roles, build confidence using filmmaking equipment, and discover which parts of the process interest them most. Our experienced film coaches create a welcoming, collaborative environment where participants can ask questions, try new things, and learn by doing. No previous filmmaking experience is required. Intro to Filmmaking is a springboard into other programs like the Filmmakers’ Workshop, and is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to build a strong foundation.
