"The Book Was Better" Book Club

Service Description

An immersive bi-weekly literary and cinematic journey for the whole family in which we'll be comparing iconic novels with their film adaptations. Participants will receive loaner copies of the books and engage in deep-dive discussions over two 90-minute sessions per title, analyzing what was lost and gained in translation to the screen. In each session, we will spend approximately 45 minutes watching the film and 45 minutes in open guided discussion. We will investigate how the films make deliberate use of things like lighting, shot types, and sound design to contribute to the story.
