Intro to Animation (All Ages)

Service Description

Bring your ideas to life, one frame at a time! Intro to Animation is a hands-on program designed for first-time animators and young artists who are curious about how animated stories are created. Participants will explore the essential building blocks of animation while developing their own characters, movements, and short animated projects. Through creative exercises, participants will learn foundational animation principles such as squash and stretch, anticipation, timing, and secondary action. They will also explore how shape language, colour theory, and visual design can be used to communicate a character’s personality and emotions. Our experienced animation coaches will guide participants through the technical side of animation, including digital drawing, frame-by-frame animation, editing, sound, and exporting their finished work. No previous animation experience is required. Intro to Animation is a springboard into programs like Animator’s Workshop and is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to build their skills, experiment with animation, and bring their own creations to life.
